NEW CAA INFORMATION SHEET ON WASTE PACKAGING
October 28, 2004

A new information sheet has been released by the Cement Admixtures Association (CAA) explaining how admixture waste and waste packaging should be disposed of within current National and European legislation.

The sheet details the CAA policy regarding the return of full and of opened containers. It explains the distinction between waste packaging and waste products where the packaging still contains more than a critical level of product, or other contaminant. This distinction defines the licensing requirements of companies permitted to transport and process the packaging.

Information is given on companies able to handle admixture waste packaging and waste product, as well as a bibliography of background reading and regulation in this area.

Copies of the Waste Packaging information sheet, together with details of other CAA information sheets are available from the CAA Secretary John Dransfield. Tele/fax: 01564 776362.
