Borregaard UK is the UK subsidiary of Borregaard Lignotech ( BLT). BLT, in turn is a division within Borregaard. Borregaard operates the world’s most advanced biorefinery. By using natural, sustainable raw materials, Borregaard produces advanced and environmentally friendly biochemical and biomaterials that replace oil-based products. The Borregaard Group has 1080 employees in 16 countries.  

BLT is the world’s leading supplier of lignin based raw materials for concrete water-reducing agents. The Concrete Industry is the single biggest Global application for Lignosulphonates. BLT has more than 60 years’ experience supplying binding and dispersing agents based on Lignin Technology. Our world-wide network of production facilities and sales offices assures the very best local service and competence where you need it.

BLT’s aim is to develop our Sales and Technical staff to be experts, not only in Lignin Technology, but also in its application in Concrete Admixture formulations. Elkem Materials

Elkem Materials is a unit of the Norwegian based company Elkem ASA – one of the world’s largest metal producers.  Elkem Materials markets the co-products from the metals operations, principally Elkem Microsilica® (aka: Silica Fume).  This product is a highly reactive, superfine pozzolana and can be used to enhance the properties of most cementitious applications.  Major fields of use are in the fibrecement, refractory and concrete industries.  Research on microsilica began in the early 1950s and the product is now used world-wide to increase the durability and performance of concrete.  The advantages include; longer lifetime of structures; better chemical resistance; higher strength and increased corrosion resistance.  As well as the sale of high quality microsilica, Elkem Materials offer; global supply and distribution; an international sales network; advice on handling and production; full technical assistance including a research and advisory service.
